Love Letter 60 – Excited, Frustrated

Love Letter 60 – Excited, Frustrated

The darkened deep blue athletic track appears to have stretched overnight without warning as my first lap feels like two and the second seems like 4 – I blame the laborious laps on daylight savings and the occasional crow crossing my path to the distant dew drenched field . . . does the early bird really catch the worm?!
Hours later, I’m feeling rejuvenated as I fall back in time with the sounds of Counting Crows and the always welcoming words of Mom in her January, 1961 evening Love Letter 60:

Friday, 11 p.m.
Flin Flon —
Hi My Honey!
Gosh I wish you were here – another Saturday near at hand – damn it!
Miss you so very much!
Thanx so much for your letter re: wedding preparations – excited, frustrated and wha’ else?
Think I’ll just chat w/ you for awhile then tell you what has been accomplished.
So you’re back to chopp-chopp eh, honey — just had to hug my love some – well you know that.
I love you – oh so much.
So, after I picture us in our new home – can you really believe it dear, only 35 days – when we want to sit and listen to stereo & be in each other’s arms we can, oh boy! And as long as we want to.
We sure have lots to do to get settled, but lots of time if we manage (over) to stay out of the bedroom long enough!!?
Haven’t tried “our” kit, yet – no time, but best I get busy or else may do the wrong thing & bingo — really, honey will concentrate on that next week.
Must chat privately w/ Aunt Bertha & Uncle Frank re: their home for our first 2 nites together – then will decide.
It would be convenient in that you’ll be there to start w/ and am sure of real privacy, honey.
Know it won’t get passed Auntie Bertha — & tell you for sure.
Can imagine making the bed in the morning – Wowee.
Oh Bryan I miss you – here I sit listening to music & wishing every second you had your arms around me!
Guess I better go to bed & dream about you, dear.
Will continue your letter tomorrow – must get more writing paper – last page —
‘Nite honey
I Love You!!

Excited, frustrated – don’t they go hand in hand with wedding prep, impending private family conversations, sleeping arrangements and trying the ‘kit’?! Thirty-five more days Mom and all will be electrifying, cheeky!

I’m in love, I’m in love
Accidentally
