Love Letter 57 – Dandy Dream
Love Letter 57 – Dandy Dream
My toe instinctively taps to the beat of the Eurythmics as new waves vibrate along the canals and into my inner ears. My happiness hormones are further boosted with the heartfelt, pulsating pages of December, 1960 with Mom’s Love Letter 57:
10:30 pm. Thursday
Hi My Love!
Oh honey I miss you so – you’re on my mind continually – I love you so very much, Bryan.
I’ve never been more lonely in my life – only 29 more days.
Went to the show last nite w/ Betty & saw Elvis – really enjoyed it (G.I. Blues) – music wasn’t bad at all.
We met her husband after, had a couple beer & ended up having Chinese food.
Then to bed.
The only thing dear is that I’ve been having such crazy dreams lately – hardly nightmares.
One time I couldn’t find you at our wedding ceremony at all and in another dandy dream my rings fell apart & wouldn’t stay on my finger.
You’re lucky you don’t dream.
Fairly busy day at work to-day.
Then I completed the invitations, what a job here – trying to make sure we don’t miss anyone here.
All was fine until to-day when Mom thought of 2 more couples, but am definitely mailing the local invitations Sat & that’s that.
(out-of-town ones are sent – as of tomorrow morning).
Everything is going fairly smoothly dear, but to-nite decided to find my white high heels that I had intention of wearing and guess where they are? — am sure they’re in one of those boxes in your attic – I know you’d probably never find them so I’ll think about what to do the next couple of days then tell you my decision. (the thing is I believe I have 2-3 pair of white heels and not sure you’d get the right ones, but if I can’t get any, prepare yourself to start a treasure hunt thru’ some of those boxes, honey).
You’re loneliness will evaporate one niggling winter evening Mom and in less than one momentous month any dandy dream that pops into your noggin will quickly be dispelled as you roll over and curl up into your newlywed hubby’s arms.
Sweet dreams are made of these
