Love Letter 56 – Christmas Carols

Love Letter – Christmas Carols

I loose track of my physio reps while lying prone and mesmerized at the passively passing cotton candy clouds. It’s not long before I find myself sitting cross-legged, as if on a magic cloud covered carpet ride, with Ella Fitzgerald wishing me A Swinging Christmas and Mom whisking me off into another December day in Flin Flon, 1960 with Love Letter 56:

Flin Flon — 12:20 a.m.
— Tuesday —
Hi Honey!
All ready for bed, where are you my dear? (how’s that for an invitation?)
Here it is nearly 12:30 a.m. & I’m wide awake – no desire to sleep – wish only that it were Friday nite & that you’d be here tomorrow when I got home for my lunch break.
I love you so, Bryan!
It’s actually beginning to feel like Christmas – maybe because our Christmas tree is up & decorated.
After supper, finished wrapping gifts then decorated the tree (Don put that up) while everyone roared off to the hockey game (we won 5-2).
– gee it looks nice – I just love Christmas trees & what atmosphere (have Christmas carols playing on the record player now, since our local radio station is off the air at midnite).
Tomorrow my day off plan to sleep in and then have about a dozen errands.
After decorating about the house a bit I cleaned & vacuumed a couple rooms so I can sleep in tomorrow.
It’s a rather cool day to-day — only 15 degrees below, but a terrific wind.
Oh honey can hardly wait to see you!
But please be so careful dear – lots of warm clothes!
I think Mom has full intentions of phoning every stop along the way to see if you’ll be alright – Every second thing she says is oh I hope Bryan will be alright –
We all have to work until 3 or 4 o’clock that day but if you’re here by noon on Saturday – find our home & soon I’ll be w/ you.
Got a nice letter from Ernestine to-day & she’s truly enjoying California – mentioned that she’s sending something small to us for Christmas (she said it has been on order since May – can’t imagine what it could be?)
Well dear will close now – such a short note, but hope you get it before you leave — Much love, honey.
Take care – I love you so!! ‘Nite
Chopp – Chopp
Yours always Bette

Hello from all. Hello to all.

Not many sleeps now Mom before you’re snuggling with Dad on the velour covered couch admiring the flickering Christmas tree lights, swooning to Christmas Carols and whatever else you two lovebirds may fancy . . .

May your days be merry and bright
