Love Letter 9 – Mary Jo

Love Letter 9 – Mary Jo

Aiza’s acoustic session of Dis-Moi softens my rousing mood, the flickering flames heat my calming body and Mom’s tenderhearted words of Love Letter 9 warm my soul:

Hello My Dear!
I love you so very very much dear!!
I will never stop telling you so honey – I miss you as I always have, but time is actually passing by and soon we’ll be together again.
Here it is your first day of work coming up.
Right now it is 3 o’clock and all is pretty quiet down the corridors of Alta Bates.
There doesn’t seem to be much work on this shift so got caught up on my writing – so far have written 14 letters plus yours.
Bobby and Mary Jo still take me to work faithfully honey so please don’t worry.
Mary Jo was over to-nite for several hours before work then we went out for coffee.
What a crew – really lots of fun as usual.
This morning the 3 of us went out for breakfast before retiring – pancakes w/ blueberry syrup – sound familiar my dear.
We had Mary Jo’s car to-day (VW). Went and got some gas – she had gone 319 miles on 9 1/2 gallons of gas – nearly as good as our ‘blue beetle’ – ‘green bug’ – what do we call it honey?
Am sending you 1/2 of the local papers to-day, and thought you’d like seeing the picture of Marion – a beautiful bride and such natural beauty.
Also the short article about the fraternity houses – quite a bit of loot, eh? Of course Peanuts always sneaks in your letters.
Watched some drama on T.V. for 2 hours last nite “Medea” – rather interesting, but couldn’t take a steady diet of that stuff.
Received a letter from mom to-day dear and they had just filled a spot at the Company Hospital, but several of the doctors said they need me at the clinic when I return, but of course the main problem being to declare that I would definitely want Christmas off to spend w/ my love.
So nothing can I decide (how do you like that for a typical Nisbet-type sentence).
Maybe it’s best if I stay down here until December and then I could get to Winnipeg about the 20th of Dec spend 2-3 weeks w/ you then home until the wedding?

Nothing says good times like having a girlfriend from work – coffee visits before night shifts, post work deliberations over pancakes and cruising in a VW Beetle … Mom’s fun moments with Mary Jo fill the days (and nights) until the lovers unite!
