Love Letter 10 – Apartment
Love Letter 10 – Apartment
Harry Styles distant gaze jumps off the cover of Vogue as his agile voice spills from the living room speaker – just as I’m dancing into Mom’s Sign of the (1960) Times in Love Letter 10:

Hi My Honey!
Received your letter to-day and very glad that you’re pleased w/ your job – wow a working man in our family now.
I love you dear more than anything and miss you so very much – only wish I could be close to you now and hear about your job, look for an apartment etc, etc – it just doesn’t seem right some how me being down here, but I guess time will go.
Glad to hear we’re not too poor – should we try living on love!?
Getting the experience you wanted and all will mean so much to you dear – guess Winnipeg isn’t too bad after all, eh?
Are Angus McCleod and Al Melnyk not from The Pas – am very sure I know of someone else – who knows?
Nice to hear that you’re getting around to your friends’ places – I’d love to be with you to meet them, hope they accept me when I hit the big city.
The apartment sounds real nice dear – am sure you know what we both like – look around as much as you like – will have a chance to look at them in December.
Hope all goes well business wise w/ your house selling.
Big responsibility and your mom is so lucky to have you there.
You’ll be getting 2 letters no doubt – the one didn’t have enough stamps so you’ll be getting some old news.
Pat McGregor came and picked me up Thurs afternoon and have been there until this evening.
What a great pair and Robert is so cute.
Such a perfect baby – never cries and is so very happy – plays & laughs all the time when he’s awake.
Frank busy getting ready to start school on Monday – evidently there are 5 Canadians in the next class – all married and from Toronto (that way).
We had some good gab sessions this week-end.
To-day we went looking at furniture stores – nearly drove the clerks wild comparing prices, etc.
They are getting all their furniture in maple – very beautiful articles from here – much variety.
Pat teasing me last evening about us getting a king size bed – are we? – size sheets (showers, etc) – hardly bug me a lot.
Frank really handy and busy around the apartment – took great care of us.
Three mornings he made breakfast for us – good cook too.
That is the extent of my week-end activities, but sure was nice to be around a home.

he only thing more exciting than apartment hunting through the eyes of your love is viewing the prospective apartment room by room, hand in hand within the coming months . . . a place to call home – together, forever!
