Love Letter 71 – Train or Car?
Love Letter 71 – Train or Car?
Rainy days on Sunday, sunny days on Monday – the weather fairies are certainly having a heyday in and around the City by the Sea! What are the chances of sun showers on Tuesday with a hint of rainbow magic – I’ll simply have to wait and see?!
Until then Silk Sonic supplies the tasty tunes as Mom dishes her daily dose of enchantment during a long Flin Flon afternoon, February, 1961 in Love Letter 71:
Saturday 1:45 p.m.
Hi Dear!
Just a short note before I go back to work.
How is everything w/ you, honey – how is the thesis coming along?
Have been kept fairly busy but not bad at all – the flu bug has hit our family so running around helping out.
Susan quite sick w/ high fever so after trying on my gown to-nite am going down to baby sit for awhile (the other 2 feeling fairly rough too).
Gran is in bed now too – her feet have gone real bad the past couple days – gets around very little – so the doctor is coming over to-nite.
Hope everyone is feeling up to par in a couple weeks.
I miss you so Bryan and wish you were w/ me now!
I love you so very much!!
Missed your letter to-day — guess I was getting too spoiled getting one every Saturday (damn lonely nite) but soon I’ll be w/ you instead of a letter thank goodness.
Wedding plans are proceeding fairly well – next week try and get some final finishing touches completed.
Weather has been gorgeous the past few days.
Any definite plans how Carol & Diane coming yet, train or car?
Have attempted at some packing – quite a job.
Need your love, dear.
Hope to hear from you real soon — a week seems too long for me to wait now.
Just a note to say I miss you so, dear.
I’m fine, dear – just lonely.
Bye now.
Love,
Yours always
Bette XXXX
Chopp Chopp!
So close and yet so far, huh Mom?! You’ve got this – one more Saturday after this one and you and Dad will be drenched in wedding pixie dust and destined to travel together to places unknown . . . whether by magic carpet, plane, train or car!
That’s the way it goes on love’s train
