Love Letter 65 – Flying Around Inside

Love Letter 65 – Flying Around Inside

Unseasonably warm weather fills the ‘City by the Sea’ with sun-kissed shores, flocks of seagulls and gut-busting moments immersed in baby babble and nursing bottles, little tikes cozy coupes and hula hoops, doggie kisses and tasteful taps . . . Uh, how I love savouring these sweet sunny moments.
Seconds turn into minutes and minutes become hours when I find myself melting into the mood-laden evening with Bubbly background and love oozing within the final pages of Mom’s January, 1961 Love Letter 65:

Just sealing your letter, honey w/ a kiss of course – lousy substitute on paper much rather be in your arms and all!
Here it is nearly 12:30 – just got home from Carole & Don
’s – what a crew. Don nearly stoned stoned.
Started drinking rum fairly early at the bonspiel & now he’s really punchy.
“All ready for a party” so his last words were.
Got a lot done tho’ — wrote your letter & read 1/2 a pocket book.
Thought these damn invitations were over w/ (sent our local ones out Sat.) but Mom came home w/ a few more names (3) that were really hurt they didn’t get one – oh dear any more think I’ll scream.
Now honey you see I’m bitchy just before I go to bed – ‘cause I want you so.
So frequently I think why didn’t we elope — it’s fun really dear, but it seems there’s so much to think about all at one time – you think your stomach might burst –
For instance right now think I’ll have a glass of hot cocoa or something so I can sleep — getting restless a little (& well you know how that is!) excited, anxious, etc etc (the butterflies are really flying around inside).
From now on expect only a mass of confusion in my letters, but remember only —— I LOVE YOU – with all my heart, Bryan.
I only wish I could tell you that now in spoken words.
Goodnite dear!
(I need you so!)
Write as often as you can I truly need you talking to me these last 25 days.

Don’t I know those squirmy, ticklish tummy tugs – sounds like you have a kaleidoscope of butterflies flying around inside, Mom. It’s all good – you’re almost there – 25 more days . . . just breath!

It starts in my toes, and I crinkle my noseWherever it goes, I always know
