Love Letter 64 – Polo Park Apts
Love Letter 64 – Polo Park Apts
New Year miracles abound – life is grand and the view from suite #306 keeps getting better! Tranquil waters spill, tattoos are etched and the past passes allowing space for today’s treasures and tomorrow’s abundance . . . hiy hiy.
I lower the blinds, ignite the hand poured candle, blast Barenaked Ladies and dash back into the events surrounding Flin Flon, 1961 with Mom’s Love Letter 64:

Hi Honey!
Here I am at home – 4:30 pm now.
Decided to finish the invitations. Now honey I have about 6 invitations that have no centres or small envelopes & larger envelopes.
Never again will I order from the cotton picking paper here! But now I have to go to the stationery center here & see if they have any appropriate envelopes.
Your invitations are all ready to go – am mailing them Friday.
Also sent out the engagement notices so should be in the papers Saturday.
Dear, what is our address – Ste 20 Polo Park Apts – Tylehurst or Tyklehurst Street?
I was just thinking it’s too bad I never put any addresses in our announcement – in case people wanted to send a reply to us in Wpg – all the actual announcement says (sample given) is we’re married & in Flin Flon (no specific address).
Got my hair done – not too sure you’d like it – but will look better when it grows (4 more weeks to grow).
Going to the show w/ Betty and we’re meeting her husband for a beer after – that’s the extent of my activity.
Oh boy I miss you so!
I truly think this is the worst time without you now.
I know you’ve got that thesis to do yet — I hope all is going well, please take it easy on Mom J dear – it will be finished soon.
Every now & then I get so damn tired of pleasing someone else – all I want is to please you – please understand that.
I never get 1/2 a block down the street when people pounce on me asking a million questions – everyone wanting to know what the bridal party are wearing, what we have for our apt etc etc etc — what do you need (I don’t mind them asking, but everyone has to give a song & dance about what we should buy or how to save money – or “don’t buy this” or “be sure & get this for your apt”). Am sure they’re wondering at times if & when we’re having a family — (over)
I better quit writing — I too am in a lousy mood.
The phone rang about 6 times in the past hour.
Oh Bryan I love you so!!
Can hardly wait for Feb. 20th when we’re driving back to Wpg on our own to our own home –
Mom is real good – worried about her attire, but I told you she looks beautiful in anything and not to think about the wedding.
Fun.
We should have eloped.
Bye now — oh to be w/ You!
Love Always,
Yours Bette
