Love Letter 46 – Love Scenes
Love Letter 46 – Love Scenes
Miniature wooden advent calendar drawers have been revealed, Secret Santa gifts have been exchanged and leftover turkey carvings have been tightly wrapped and lovingly distributed to be housed in overstuffed refrigerators. This time of year seems to come and go like a passing comet (outgassing and all) – and what I’m left with in this moment is the surrounding sounds of silence and the reflections of merry memories of the loves of my life that bring me joy year-round.
Dreamy, harmonic HoneyDrippers tunes accompany my rhapsodical oasis as I eagerly slip into the 1960s pre-Christmas season with Mom’s Love Letter 46:
November 26/60
Dearest,
Funny here goes for another letter to my love on another real lonely Saturday nite —
I miss you so very much my dear!
Well honey only one more goodbye thank goodness and we’ll be together for a lifetime.
I know how much you love me dear and am so very lucky to have you for my own.
It was wonderful to have those few hours together.
I love you, Bryan.
Sorry indeed to hear that you are still bleeding, I sincerely hope all will be well w/ you when you receive this letter.
Know you’ll appreciate this writing paper – compliments of brother Don.
Here it is after 9 o’clock and I am baby sitting for the 3 Gummersons – real cuties.
This time they all stayed awake to kiss me goodnite, so my love you have competition – it is the 1st time I had a kiss goodnite by anyone but you for many a moon (last Wednesday).
Congratulations dear – so the Americans have discovered my genius, too, eh.
Wonderful – hope you’ll be satisfied w/ the info they will send you.
Listened to the football game for a few minutes to-day. Missed the pool, I had 19-14 (East) – win anything dear?
How is everyone at your home, please say hello to everyone for me please!
Had a fairly busy day at work to-day – 2 doctors that kept me busy, but as I said rather enjoy clinic at times.
Just got home and had supper, then it was time to come down & baby sit.
Wish you were here to keep me company!
Susan had another letter for you but it was a picture? she had drawn on an enormous piece of paper – held by a red elastic band – too big to send.
Don’t know what she’ll say when she meets you, but she sure talks a lot about you now.
Jimmy is cute tho’ – last nite really worried what you would say about my going to the show with him, and in the show watched a couple of short love scenes then asked me if Bryan ever kissed me in front of people – thought this would be the end if a man did that – (over)
You know how boys that young hate love scenes in shows –
Sure glad my love doesn’t, but then my honey has his mind preoccupied continually with thoughts of the BED anyhow.
Certainly glad you mentioned it in your last letter, dear.
Am getting my hair cut & curled Mon. nite – out visiting 2 nites next week.
Got a fair amount of cards done now.
Loads of Love & Kisses Lover
Yours always,

Cool here, 18 below while going to work this A.M.
Oh boy, the love scenes splashed across the local cinema’s massive screen will undoubtedly have an irreversible impression on little Jimmy – as will his first bashful introduction to Dad. And no telling what he’ll think when you and Dad kiss ‘in front of people!’ Anyhoo, your lonely Saturday evenings will be a distant memory in a few short weeks Mom – when you and your honey will be the main attraction of your own mushy love scenes . . .
I want to tell you
Just how much I love you
