Love Letter 41 – Wedding Announcement
Love Letter 41 – Wedding Announcement
A pair of spirited crows caw from a neighbouring coniferous branch as if to say ‘get on with it!’ I willingly assent to my wise feathered friends’ request by leaving the memorable thoughts of another fabulously frenzied weekend and simultaneously returning to Mom’s 1960 winter wonderland with the sweet background sounds of Ella Fitzgerald and the continuing bliss of my Mom’s Love Letter 41:

Was that ever a wonderful letter from Grandma & Grandpa – so very nice and cute just like them!
Glad to hear you’re working on your thesis, but better get 3-4 evenings in before next Saturday – the next football game – !! (slave driver).
About the aptitude test, got about 16 right w/ some (just a little) help – so not marrying a sub-idiot (1-5 correct).
Hope your Mom had a good time in Grand Forks – probably got some Christmas shopping done.
Say hello to all for me, please.
About the wedding gown, have sent to fabric centres in Winnipeg re: material samples and we have a lady friend here who can sew from a picture in a book instead of a pattern – so all will be okay. She will make my gown in January – all arranged, dear.
If I should see anything I really like while in Wpg will buy one then.
Don’t worry dear all is working out well.
Re: the announcements, I didn’t mean “engagement” – (they don’t appear in the paper until 3-4 weeks before the wedding) but I meant regarding the wedding announcement – instead of sending wedding invitations to everyone, especially the people that we know can’t come – but you had mentioned you & your Mom making out an approx. list – just an idea of how many invitations, etc dear.
We’ve made a tentative list here so trying to get an idea of how many people will be in the vicinity.
It’s a real problem in a way – ’cause there are people that just from their conversation on the street sound as if they think they are getting an invitation – oh gee – great fun.
Anyhow we’ll be there dear and that’s all that counts.
I love you more than anything in the world.
Don’t know what would happen if you didn’t mention something about a bed in every letter.
We’re spending a lot of our time there, eh?
I love you, dear.
Hello from all.
Will close now.
Love n’ Kisses
Yours always

Chopp – Chopp!!

Praise the Lord for seamstress wizardry and alteration artistry that save many a bride’s day! Ha, I have a hunch church pews will be filled to capacity, Mom, despite your efforts of wedding invitations and a wedding announcement in the Flin Flon Daily Reminder. But I have all the faith in the universe that the stars will align on the big day – for you lovebirds.
Now, about the bedroom talk . . .
Love and kisses
That’s what bliss is
