I forego cleaning up, for now, making my way across the room to the armed high back chair and relax into the sounds of Blood, Sweat & Tears and Mom’s eternal voice within the final pages of Love Letter 66:

Received your letter and pleased to hear all is going fairly well w/ your thesis – take it easy on your Mom tho’ dear – lots of work for her too.

Got a real cute note from the Grants – said that their gift is too big & hard to send to us so when we are 1/2 settled we are to go over to their home for supper and pick up our gift – a lovely note – you can see it when we have a spare second.
Also Carole Thom’s (classmate of mine – from F.F.) Mother just phoned to say Carole is coming up for the wedding – a real reunion.
Sorry to hear you didn’t make your fraternity initiation, dear.
Have something to do every evening and 2 dinner breaks this week so need to worry where the time will go.

Dad may have missed his fraternity initiation Mom, but there’s no way on Creator’s green earth he’ll miss getting his blood taken!! Or any other prelims necessary for your marital plunge . . . which, by the way, is so close I can almost taste it!!
