Love Letter 52 – Punchy Mood

Love Letter 52 – Punchy Mood

At last, wuthering weekdays spawn a whimsical weekend filled with backyard bliss, enchanting strolls and skips along the sea shore. Long summer solstice daylight hours pass as I leisurely kick back on the outdoor chaise with a rosé spritz, The Cure and several foolscap pages of Mom’s uninhibited confabulations comprising Love Letter 52:

Hello My dearest!
Oh how I’m spoiled by you my dear – 4 letters in one week.
Oh Bryan, I love you so very much!
Wish so very much you were with me right now – wish you were with me all the time – but dear only 9 more Saturdays.
Only one more Saturday & I’ll be with you 2 weeks from this time – Hurray!
Pleased to hear you’re getting some work done on that damn thesis – man what a project – but honey soon it will be finished.
So now I’m a good influence on you, eh dear – in many ways – hardly frustrated at all – so often wish I had your arms around me – I love you, honey.
Really nice to hear some more relatives will be able to make it up for our wedding – will arrange something re: sleeping accommodations. Maybe we can double up – 4 of us in our room – know you’re reply.
Am sure we could survive comfortably w/ a single w/ the amount of bed space we’ll be taking up – Zowie!
How about that, my turn to discuss BEDS!!
What’s this – you want a hint about my gown – well darling, the hint I can give you – is that I’ll be wearing white – look for me in the crowd, dear.
(white for purity – remember).
Still seems funny planning a going away outfit – dress up to drive about a block to the hotel – I’ll wear many, many undergarments so it’ll take me quite awhile to undress – how does that sound – know you’ll agree no doubt?! – ha!
Punchy mood, dear – care to join me – even wrestle with you to-nite!
Lovely stationery again, but had only enough time to grab this before I dashed to catch a bus to come baby sit.
Susan – quite restless to-nite and has been up 3-4 times – settled down now — had to raise my voice a little to make her listen.
Sure cute tho’ – am sure you’ll enjoy them.
Went bowling (10 pins) last nite but didn’t do too well – seems my mind is preoccupied a fair amount of the time – wonder by whom – scores low 108, 110, 130 – better get some practise …
Had the day off but didn’t do as much as I expected as I ended up in the pub at 3 o’clock – oh what a wife you’re getting!
Had a real gab session in there to-day – then home.
Now here it is nearly 11:45 p.m. – w/ 4 short interruptions since I started your letter.
Lovely, soft, sexy music playing right now – appropriate atmosphere – where are you, dear?
As I was writing to you I just for a moment thought what could I tell you in my letters after our wedding and our plans – forgetting for a second that I’ll be w/ you – how much better that is.
Please say hello to everyone for me dear –
Oh, ha – a request on the radio to all the babysitters to-nite – that’s me! – Kingston Trio.
Our local radio station goes off the air at mid nite – then I’ll be sitting in silence –

It may be hard to believe that one delightful day the countdown to “wearing white” and “many, many undergarments” will be a faded memory . . .
Until then Mom, embrace that punchy mood of yours with continued tantalizing, timeless handwritten pages to Dad – anything less would be, well, tragic.

It’s Friday, I’m in love
