As the light and steady snowfall begins to blanket the sidewalks and the branches of the bordering yew hedges, I relive every glorious Friday moment of baby smiles, toddler waves and blissful family visits. My warm heartedness endures as I slip comfortably back into Mom’s September 21, 1960 Love Letter 13:

Yes dear I’ll clean all the wild animals you venture home with – maybe we should mount a few bear (bare) hides, etc. in our rumpus (trophy) room, eh?
Gran will help to give me a few pointers re: cooking duck, etc. – she is a pro at it.
Listen honey, you don’t have to build up Winnipeg anymore – I’ll be happy and content to be wherever you are – just to be with you and love you – even if it were Eastgate? (where your Honeymooner’s Haven motel was).
I’m glad you mentioned that you don’t mind my staying until Dec – you know dear I’d like to be with you, but such a confusing state to be in – between jobs is all and I’d be working for a few months here, there and everywhere.
You should have heard Joan & Ernie to-nite, never can decide what they want to do next – now Ernie thought she might venture home at the end of next month – who knows.
All I know dear is that I’ll be with you by December 15th. I love you!!
If you do have time honey to write Mom a few words please do – her last letter was the first one that she mentioned she thought I’d be home before Christmas, but that’s all – she understands & is anxious to see her baby daughter soon.
