The day’s roller coaster ride of emotions eventually shuttle me into the waning daylight hours and from the corner of the warming media room I slowly settle into the soothing sounds of Duane Forrest and the welcoming words of Mom’s continued Love Letter 23:

Have got back from the Air Lines –
All is arranged, they have a flight thru’ to Vancouver for sure Fri, Oct 21/60 and are fairly sure of the flight the rest of the way –
Please get my ticket as soon as possible and have it here by the 15th if possible.
The fellow at the ticket office said just to go to T.C.A. and say you are sending me a prepaid ticket –

I’ve done nearly everything but pack – and hope to have everything done by Tues –
All I know is I love you and need you – guess you know that –
Sorry dear, but will see you 2 weeks from to-day –

The hurried travel and moving arrangements, not to mention the final night shifts at Alta Bates Hospital, appear to have thwarted Mom’s normally unbridled excitement – two weeks and a couple flights will undoubtedly change all that!

Time is limited
But love is infinite
